Happy New Year and Thank you Collaborators!!

We can’t thank each of you enough for your support to our organization in 2018. Through your investment, partnerships, funding we have seen a number of wins this year: Fish 'n Fins Summer Camp focused on people of colour in swimming and facilitated guest speakers in ocean conservation under the theme "The Revolution Against Pollution". The program also saw 7-14 year olds participating in our "Better Bag" challenge. Sixty children learnt to swim, snorkel and protect the ocean. Our aquatic activities were supported by Afroswimmers, Noelle Singleton & Antiguan Olympic Swimmer, Karin Clashing!

Fish 'n Fins Barbuda camp hosted twenty-five children who participated in oceany art, games and edVenture, as they explored their marine and natural environment.

Thanks to the Waitt Institute, Fish 'n Fins launched it's Mermaid Edition with 18 young women enjoying science and sailing and an exciting educational science tour on board visiting science ship "Corwith Cramer" of the Sea Education Association at Woodshole Oceanographic Institution.

Veta’s story was internationally recognized by the Bezos Family Foundation and a short documentary made. This short video highlights the story of young people who have had a transformed relationship with the ocean by their participation with Fish ‘n Fins. Fish ‘n Fins is now recognized as one of the international groups involved in their recently launched Ocean Challenge. Fish 'n Fins is created into a global learning resource by Students Rebuild. These resources are free to help easily teach ocean conservation to any child in almost any setting, from one class period to a full year. We look forward to engaging our local schools in the Ocean Challenge throughout 2019.

Fish 'n Fins ran its first Ocean Literacy Survey amongst its alumni in December. Results expected January 2019. The purpose of the survey was to gauge the impact of Fish 'n Fins on local participants.

As each year becomes more and more critical for the future of the ocean, we’ll be working overtime to empower our future leaders. We have some exciting upcoming initiatives that we’ll be calling on your continued support to help launch and grow in 2019, so stay tuned…!
