FISH 'N FINERS EXCEL AT CARIBBEAN PRIMARY EXIT ASSESSMENT 2018

Three Fish 'N Finers score top marks in the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment this year. All three students are are registered 'Reef Patrollers' at the Fish 'N Fins Ocean Club. Matthew Owen, Quincy Hillocks and Shary Barzey, placed, third, sixth and seventh out of the top 10 places in Montserrat, respectively. Fin-tastic!

What has also been encouraging to see, are the skills and character these youngsters have developed at the club, gaining them leadership roles within their group. Matthew is a Junior Assistant at Fish 'N Fins , whose attendance is exemplary. Matthew is often leader of his group on snorkel expeditions, role modelling sea safety, demonstrating correct swim technique, and identifying threats to reef life. Reef Patroller Quincy Hillocks' courage, determination and self-discipline, has seen him assisting in community outreach around our campaign to ''beat plastic pollution'' on Montserrat.

According to the Ministry of Education, 56 Grade 6 Pupils sat the exams. Montserrat’s students, averaging 363.50, performed well above the regional average of 338.29. The top scorer in the region gained 482 points out of 500 compared with Montserrat’s highest score of 466, reported Discover Montserrat. Our Fish 'N Finers, scored as follows:

3. Matthew Owen - 446

6. Quincy Hillocks Brades - 430

7. Shary Barzey - 429

A big congratulations to all the children who excelled this year, and even bigger shout out to their parents, and families whose consistency, dedication, and patience should be recognised. To those, who did not make the top list, be not disheartened, there are many routes to success, not all are academic.

At Fish 'N Fins we continue to do our part to ensure our children develop a sense of passion and purpose in their appreciation of the Ocean.

From the entire Fish 'N Fins Family a big CONGRATULATIONS to our future ocean leaders! The best is yet to come 😊 ,
